Small Grazers
Feather-footed shrews
Scurriers
Primarily desert-dwelling shrews with hairy
feet. They live the life of modern jerboas.
Small, ground-dwelling mammals that
branched off the squirrel family. Most have
some kind of head dress.
Pouched Mice
Lily-hoppers
A family of strictly Old-World rats and mice
that possess cheek-pouches, much like
today's hamsters.
Small antelope-like mammals that move
about among lily pads. They move like mini
gazelles.
Bower Rats
A family of rats that build amazing houses
for their mates, much like today's bower
birds of Australia.
Descended from the modern rat and
mouse family, some are still small,
scurrying mammals, but some are huge.
New World "Squirrels"
Marsupial "Sloth"
Actually not squirrels, but descended from
chinchillas. But the lifestyle paralells that of
true tree squirrels.
Much like the name suggests. This animal
is descended of the modern cuscus.
Phalangers
A family of hooved mammals that
descended from hyrax. Most have horns of
one type or another.
This family is even around today, it includes
the cuscus and familiar sugar gliders.
Paradise Squirrels
A family of squirrels that live exclusively in
trees. Males are very brilliantly colored,
while females are dull by comparison.
The same opossums that are around
today. They are actually quite good
survivors.
Futuristic Bandicoots
The one and only true squirrel family during
the Metazoic. The lifestyle is much the
same as modern squirrels.
Much the same family that is around today,
only the feet have been altered to become
fully developed hooves.
Marsupial "Antelope"
Platypus and allies are the only mammals
left during this age that lay eggs.
This family branched off from the
bandicoots, and are much the same form
with the exception of the head dress.
